Seasons Greetings and best wishes to everyone for the new year in 2020. It’s been a tragic end to the year with the loss of life and bush fires ravaging the forests and rural pasture lands in south east Australia. Many of us have ridden the beautiful trails and roads through these regions and have many shared and treasured moments. The scars of these fires will remain for years to come and indeed will likely impact on some route options in the coming months as local fire and emergency service crews undertake safety rehab work in forested roads impacted by fire.

CLOUDRIDE PROLOGUE 508k

STARTS: 6:00am Saturday 7 March. Bent Spoke Brewery, Elouera St BRADDON.

Another fast but challenging route planned for 2020. Lots of fuel and sleep options and plenty of ground to test the legs, saddle and gear for those looking ahead to some longer bikepacking challenges.

The provisional route planned for the Prologue includes some roads impacted by fire. It may be some weeks before any clarity on their serviceability can be determined.

2020 will bring the 8th running of the Cloudride. This years course will be clockwise and as always there will be a few new and changed sections to keep repeat offenders on navigation alert. Towns along the way remain the same ... only the [ride] time gaps might be different.

STARTS: 6:00am 1 September Cape York…. at the tip.

This is a serious commitment, top to bottom of the Australian mainland. An adventure through an amazing kaleidoscope of the Australian landscape, wildlife, lifestyles and a serious confrontation with ones comfortability in the space of 'silence' ... just you!

The five individual legs are also on offer for those who want to experience part of the route. Just sign on for the main event [same tracking fee for the lot or 1+ legs] and I'll be in contact to sort out the detail.
